This Privacy policy statement sets out how The Investor Ladder Limited (trading as Investor Ladder), uses and protects any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us.

Membership to Investor Ladder is by invite only for individuals and organisations from across the globe who are actively involved in building, scaling, and investing in science and tech start-up businesses.

We are now one of the UK’s largest networks of equity investors ranging from individual Angels though Venture Capital to Early-Stage Private Equity and Investment Banks. Through regular events, meetings and roundtables, we’re able to discuss industry and regional challenges and facilitate introductions between industry, innovation, and investment.

By becoming a member of Investor Ladder you are agreeing to the following:

• To be an active member of the group.

• The disclosure of your name, company and bio with other Investor Ladder members when you attend an Investor Ladder event.

• The photography, filming and/or sound recording of yourself as a member of the audience being used for marketing/promotional purposes, including use on Investor Ladder website.

We may collect and process the following data about you, outlined below.

Information that you provide by filling in forms on this website. This may include information provided at the time of registering to use our site, registering to become a member of our site, subscribing to any of our services or requesting further services.

Information that you provide to us by registering for one of our events in another format; including your name, company, contact details and event specific requirements.

If someone else registers on your behalf they may provide us with your name, company, contact details and event specific requirements.

If you contact us we may keep a record of that correspondence and any comments and responses you submit via surveys and our feedback system to respond to your enquiry or to facilitate your event attendance and to let you know about our products and services which may be of interest (including through the use of email, phone and text if you have agreed to receive this information from us electronically).

We may contact you by email, phone or messaging service to invite you to upcoming events that are relevant to you.

We may also contact you by email to complete surveys that we use for research purposes, which there is no obligation to respond to.

If you are involved in an incident at one of our locations, we will record details of the incident to comply with our obligations under health and safety legislation.

We may also automatically collect some limited technical information including information on your IP address, browser type and version, time zone setting, operating system and platform, page interaction information, and any phone numbers or email addresses used to correspond with us.

Disclosing your information with others

We value your privacy and will not sell your information to any third parties under any circumstances.

We will disclose your name, company and bio to other Investor Ladder members at events, and for a limited duration after the event.

How long we keep your information

We keep the information that you provide or that we collect only for as long as we need to in line with the reason it was collected. In all but exception circumstances we would not retain any data beyond 7 years after your membership has expired.

We keep your contact details for up to two years after your first enquiry. We keep enough information to record your communication preferences indefinitely in order to avoid sending you unwanted information in future.

We keep correspondence for two years in case you contact us again about the same subject.

What we do with it

All personal data is processed by our staff in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, and this information is located on servers within the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area.

No third parties have access to personal data unless specific permission is given by the individual in relation to that company.

The Investor Ladder Limited has a data protection regime in place that is designed to keep your data secure.

We do not use any kind of automated decision making.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

What are your rights?

You have the right to see a copy of the personal data we hold on you at any time, and to request for that information to be amended or erased. If you request your data to be erased you will be removed as a member of Investor Ladder, as you will no longer be an active member of the group.

Investor Ladder Limited will not pass on your details to any third parties for the purpose of marketing without your express permission with regards to that particular company.

If you are dissatisfied for any reason, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, and to judicial remedy, without undue delay and at the latest within one month.

Updating your marketing preferences

We do not use your information for marketing purposes.

We use your information to update you on forthcoming events, news within the network, for asking for input or opinions.

If you request not to receive this information you will be removed as a member of Investor Ladder, as you will no longer be an active member of the group.
